Meet the Staff
Chad Mekles
Chad Mekles is the Founder and Head Coach of CMEK, Chad Mekles Expert with Kids. Chad plans all programs, clinics, tournaments, birthday parties, camps, and special events.
CMEK runs programs in Englewood, Cresskill, Saddle River, Alpine, Waldwick, Demarest, in private homes with courts, and kicks off soon at the Solomon Schechter Day School in New Milford. Children come from private, public, and religious schools. Chad graduated with a BSBA in marketing from the University of Delaware. Prior to graduation, Chad was Captain of the Dwight-Englewood basketball and tennis high school teams and led both teams to Bergen County Team of the Year honors. Chad formerly served as the Director of Children's Activities for the Cal Ripken Jr. Baseball Fantasy Camps in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Palm Beach, Florida. He is also affiliated with Camps Laurel and Laurel South in Maine, and Camp Woodmont in New York, as an outside special events coordinator. He volunteered for the JCC on the Palisades, coaching various teams, including the 2003 Maccabi Games team. Chad is interested in the physical and emotional development of each CMEK All Star. He helps and encourages them to achieve their individual goals to succeed at home, school and in sports. CMEK, founded in 1997, is a fully insured member of the AM Skier family of Camps and Programs. JD Marks
JD Marks played his college basketball at Brandeis University for Chris Ford, who formerly coached Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics. Coach Marks has competed with and still maintains relationships with many NBA players.
Matt Henry
Matt Henry is one of the most prolific scorers in Bergen County history, scoring nearly 1,800 points for Cresskill during his 4 years, in which he led his team to State, County, and League titles. Henry was a 2-sport star, also playing Football at New Hampshire. Henry has competed against several NBA players. Henry works with players of all ages and abilities.
Billy Neira
Sasha Sandhu
Sasha Sandhu has coached in the CMEK program for the last few years. Sasha makes each class fun and exciting and develops a great player-coach relationship with all of the players. Sasha also assists in parties, entertainment, and camps.
Colby Piper
Colby Piper became a favorite amongst the CMEK ALL STARS last year. Coach Colby works with players of all abilities and also coaches the Dream Team. Last season, he led the team to a huge victory over a rival. Colby assists in entertainment, parties and camps.
Joey Gianetti
Joey Gianetti has been with the CMEK ALL STARS for many years. Joey is almost famous amongst all of the kids and parents with his bubbly sense of humor and ability to make each day special for everyone. Joey specializes with entertainment including camps, parties, and special events. Joey also coaches basketball programs for both the boys and the girls. Joey is the Head Counselor at the Summer Camp.
Tommy Caporale
Tommy Caporale is the Head Basketball Coach at Summer Camp. Coach Caps has the most tournament championships of all of the coaches. Studying to be in education in college, Coach Caps' expertise also lies with his ability to handle special situations amongst the children.
Jordan Scaduto
Jordan Scaduto is one of our talented young coaches. He coaches in games, instructs in practices, and referees. This year, Jordan has chosen to work for CMEK ALL STARS as part of his school requirement in the CBE program. Jordan is also a counselor in summer camp.
Jesse Guzman
Jesse Guzman, who seeks to play football at the University of Maryland, has been a stalwart coach working for CMEK. Jesse is loved by all of the kids in all of the programs. During the summer, Jesse is an all sports coach at camp.
Julian ChoiCoach Julian has been able to teach our young players some of the drills and moves that he learned while playing for Northern Valley Demarest High School. Julian coaches the boys and girls.Dan Okin
Dan, referred to as "Smokin", specializes with the younger boys division. He gives private lessons to players of all ages as well. Dan was a standout player for Cresskill High School and earned many accolades for his defensive performances in big games.
Sam Brisk
Sam Brisk plays highschool basketball for the Norsemen of Demarest. He is one of the youngest coaches at CMEK, and is very well liked by the children. He gets along with all of the kids, and knows how to have a good time. Sam hopes to major in education in college, and work with children in the future. Sam looks forward to improving the skills of both basketball, and teaching the youngsters several life lessons.
Jon Kagan
Jon Kagan has worked with CMEK since 2005 working both as a counselor at the summer camp and as a basketball
instructor in basketball clinics and private lessons. He is very enthusiastic when it comes to coaching and cares a
lot for the kids he works with. Kagen takes the programs seriously, but also shows his humorous side throughout the activities. Jon Kagan knows it's all about the kids.
Alex Immerman
Alex Immerman is a recent graduate of Dwight-Englewood, where he was a three sport varsity athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. He will attend UPenn in the fall. Alex has worked with Coach CMEK for many years now and this summer, is a counselor for the younger boys at camp.
Skylar Stark
Skylar Stark "Spark" is the heart and soul of the CMEK program. She assists all of the children in so many ways. She excelled as a player and now has used her basketball experience to become one of our top counselors.
Mike Lenok
Mike Lenok was a former CMEK player and amongst the greats of all time. Recently as a coach, he has worked both as a counselor at the summer camp as a basketball and tennis instructor. He is very energetic and cares about all of the kids.
Lindsey Griffin
Lindsey Griffin has had the pleasure of working with CMEK since 2005. She has
assisted with birthday parties, summer camp and most recently, private
lifeguarding. Lindsey has been certified by the American Red Cross in
lifeguarding and first aid for 6 years. Lindsey enjoys running pool activities
without compromising on safety.
